Kirby Crochet Pattern

Kirby

This is my first time trying to write out a pattern, so please let me know if anything is unclear!

Materials

  • Worsted weight yarn in pink and red (I tend to use Red Heart)
  • Size G Crochet Hook
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Scissors
  • Polyfill
  • Small amounts of felt in red, white, and sky blue
  • Fabric Glue

Head/Body

Using Pink

Round 1 – sc6 in a magic ring (6)

Round 2 – 2sc in each stitch around (12)

Round 3 – (sc, 2sc) around (18)

Round 4 – (sc 2, 2sc) around (24)

Round 5 – (sc 3, 2sc) around (30)

Round 6 – (sc 4, 2sc) around (36)

Round 7 – (sc 5, 2sc) around (42)

Round 8 – (sc 6, 2sc) around (48)

Round 9 – (sc 7, 2sc) around (54)

Round 10 – (sc 8, 2 sc) around (60)

Round 11-19 – sc around (60)

Round 20 – (sc 8, dec) around (54)

Round 21 – (sc 7, dec) around (48)

Round 22 – (sc 6, dec) around (42)

Round 23 – (sc 5, dec) around (36)

Round 24 – (sc 4, dec) around (30)

Round 25 – (sc 3, dec) around (24) – this is often a good place to begin stuffing

Round 26 – (sc 2, dec) around (18)

Round 27 – (sc, dec) around (12)

Round 28 – (dec) around (6)

Make sure that the body is stuffed firmly but not overstuffed before closing. Fasten off, weaving in tail.

Arms (Make 2)

Using Pink

Round 1 – sc 6 in a magic ring (6)

Round 2 – (2sc) around (12)

Round 3 – (sc, 2sc) around (18)

Round 4-6 – sc around (18)

Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing. Stuff firmly but do not overstuff.

Feet (Make 2)

Using Red

Round 1 – sc 6 in a magic ring (6)

Round 2 – (2sc) around (12)

Round 3 – (sc, 2sc) around (18)

Round 4 – (sc 2, 2sc) around (24)

Round 5 – (sc 3, 2sc) around (30)

Round 6 – sc around (30)

Round 7 – (sc 3, dec) around (24)

Round 8 – (sc2, dec) around (18)

Round 9 – (sc, dec) around (12)

Round 10 – (dec) around (6)

Do not stuff. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly

Sew feet to the bottom of the body, sew arms not quite opposite each other, starting at about row 11 of the body.

Use blue and white felt to create the eyes and red felt to create the mouth. You can sew these on but I prefer the look of using fabric glue.
